Y4 Residential Trip to Kingswood Activity Centre

On Monday 20th February a group of 19 Year 4 children along with 3 adults set off towards the South East, for a week long residential trip to Kingswood activity centre at Grosvenor Hall - a complete indoor and outdoor education facility set in the grounds of a former manor house in Ashford, Kent.

“It was quite a long journey on the coach, I sat next to Sasha and we had fun talking and looking at the scenery along the way. When we arrived I was so excited! A lady called Kirsty gave us all a safety talk and then we went to our rooms. I shared a room with Amaia, Amarah, Liyah and Sasha, which was great fun.” Esme

“Every day we had to make our beds, they were very comfortable. The teachers would come to our room at 7.30am to make sure we were awake and by 8.15am we would have to be ready to go to breakfast. The food was fantastic throughout the whole week, my favourite was the English breakfast and pancakes.” Valentina

“The “3G Swing” was my favourite activity. Tom and I went to the yellow (medium) level, we could have gone higher to red, but decided not to. On most things we did during the week we had to use our initiative to get the job done and by working together as a team, it enabled us to complete the activities easier.” Jaelan

“It was so much fun when we completed the “Nightline”, we were all blindfolded and together we had to get across a muddy obstacle course by talking and listening to each other.” Sienna

“The “Leap of Faith” and “High Equilibrium” were the scariest activities, I took the challenge and got to the top by climbing a long post and there was a see-saw at the top. I learnt never to give up and enjoyed the campfire the most, as we sang songs, roasted marshmallows and drank hot chocolate.” Amaia

“I was the first to the top in the rock climbing. My favourite was the “3G Swing”. Adam and I went from the red level, it was scary! I shared a room with Adam, Luca, Rylee and Tom. On a few evenings after dinner we all watched a movie together and there was also a disco for us on the last night. We would go to bed between 10pm-11pm each night. I did miss my parents, though I had such a fun week!” Gabriel
