Nursery, Donaldson Class

Welcome to Donaldson class (Nursery)

In Nursery the Class Teacher is Mrs Oldham and the Teaching Assistant is Miss Jones. We are a fun and lively class: we are very active learners and we love to get messy…

In Nursery we follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum. Each area of learning and development is implemented through planned, purposeful play and through a balance of child-initiated and adult-directed experiences. Play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems, and relate to others. We value children’s interests and this is the starting point for all of our learning in Nursery.

We have access to a rich and stimulation environment both indoors and outside and we are independent in selecting their own learning experiences.

We work in small Key Groups which gives us the opportunity to build strong relationships with our Key Person and with the other children in our class.

Our class is named after the author Julia Donaldson who has written lots of well-known children’s stories such as The Gruffalo, A squash and a Squeeze and the Smartest Giant in Town to name only a few.
