Y2 Museum of London Trip

During Year 2’s topic FIRE: FRIEND OR FOE the children studied the Great Fire of London. To bring this to life, we went on a very exciting trip. We started the day in the Museum of London where we took part in a fantastic story telling workshop about the spread of the fire. We then explored the gallery which showed the buckets used, the paintings of the great fire and even the fire hooks that were used to pull down the houses! After eating lunch we headed over to the Monument. This is a famous landmark of London which was built by Sir Christopher Wren to commemorate the fire.  It is built just metres away from where the fire started in Pudding Lane. We all climbed the 311 steps up to the top of Monument where the views were amazing! It was a tiring but memorable day.
