Dear Parents/Carers,

Some classes in the  school will be closed due to Industrial Action on Tuesday 5th July.

This action is not against the school itself but is part of national industrial action organised by the National Union of Teachers. A decision to partially close the school is never taken lightly, but in view of the numbers involved in the industrial action and after discussion with the Executive Head and Chair of Governors, we have decided to partially close the school on Tuesday 5th July.  The school will remain open to children in the Nursery, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5 only.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to you and your family but I must ensure that when children and young people attend the school their well-being and safety is assured.

As Sports Day was due to be held on Tuesday 5th July, unfortunately it will have to be cancelled.

We must hope that the issues, over which the industrial action has arisen, are resolved as soon as possible.

The school will open normally on Wednesday 6th July.

Thank you for your ongoing help and support.

Kind regards,

Sophie Rutherford
(Head of School)
