In our Nursery, the class teacher is Miss Flood and the teaching assistants are Mrs Jackson and Mrs Munday.
We are a fun and energetic class: we are very active learners, love to share stories, role play, interact with nature, sing and get messy!
In Nursery we follow the Foundation Stage Framework. Each area of learning is developed through play. We do this by creating an enabling environment (both physical and emotional) and through the relationships and interactions that the children build. Play is essential for children’s development, growing their confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems, and relate to others. We observe children carefully, and enhance the learning whenever we spot a ‘teachable moment’. We value children’s interests and this is the starting point for all of our learning in nursery.
We have access to a rich and stimulating environment both indoors and outside and the children are independent in selecting their own learning experiences.
Our class is named after the fantastic author Julia Donaldson who has written lots of wonderful and well-known children’s stories such as 'Superworm', 'The Gruffalo', 'The Snail and The Whale', 'A Squash and a Squeeze' and 'The Smartest Giant in Town' to name only a few!
Thank you for all your help and support throughout this important year.
