Y5 Tower of London Visit

The sun was out and the great city of London was loking at its best.

First on the agenda was a meeting with a Beefeater who hooked us in with stories of the lost Princes and the legend of the ravens. Then into groups we split, before exploring the Tower and all of its history: tales of execution in the square; graffiti covered walls from the prisoners that were held there; a walk through the bloody tower and of course a slow and awesome journey soaking up the glory, that is the crown jewels.

Lunch in the sunshine and further discovery of the White Tower and tales of kings and queens before ended our day before we enjoyed our journey back to school bursting with questions and new information.

Did you know the Tower of London's moat was dried up and used to grow vegetables during WW2?
