Arrival and Entering the School Building

The main school gate on Wycliffe Road opens at 8:40am.

Parents, carers and children begin entering the playground from 8:40am.

We have a bike shelter next to the garden and Early Years gate. Children are welcome to store any bikes or scooters in this shelter during the school day.

KS2 pupils enter the building via the KS2 entrance alongside the Dinner Hall. This door is closed for KS2 pupils at 8:50am.

KS1 pupils enter the building via their classroom door. Both KS1 classrooms are on the ground floor and can be found next to the KS1 playground. KS1 classroom doors are closed at 8:50am.

Pupils in the Early Years (Nursery and Reception) enter via the EYFS gate. This gate is opened at 8:50am and closes at 9am.

Children arriving after the times indicated above will need to enter the school building via the Office. A parent is required to sign the late register if their child is brought onto the school grounds late.

On entering the cloakroom areas, children hang up their coats and empty their bags, getting out their reading diary, including any homework that may need to be handed in. If your child brings in a packed lunch they will need to place their lunchbox on the packed lunch trolley on the ground floor, next to the Dinner Hall.

Over the morning children have lessons in English and maths. This includes reading, spelling and phonics depending on your child's age and stage of learning.

Assembly/Collective Worship

Assemblies take place each day. Mr Grogan opens a new school week with an assembly linked to British Values. Mr  Bowman (Assistant Headteacher) or Mrs Oldham (EYFS/KS1 Leader) lead an assembly on a Wednesday. Ms Skeggs (Assistant Headteacher) leads an assembly on a Thursday. On Friday, Mr Grogan leads a Golden Assembly.

Assemblies start at 10:45am and run to 11am. Sometimes assemblies have a religious theme.

Each class is scheduled to lead a Class Assembly at some point throughout the academic year. Class Assemblies run at the earlier time of 9:10am and parents will be notified in writing of their child's class assembly date.

Break Time

The children have their morning break from 11:00-11:15am. EYFS and KS1 children are provided with fruit and KS2 children are welcome to bring in fruit to eat from home in the playground.

There are two main playgrounds plus the Pen (enclosed pitch). In the spring and summer term children also have access to the garden.

The school also provides After School Care which runs from 3:15-5:45pm.

Please be advised that we will not allow any child to be collected by an unfamiliar adult or sibling under 16 years of age.

At the start of each school year in September parents and carers are required to let us know the names of any adults with permission to pick up their child. Children must be picked up from school by one of these adults, unless they are in Year 6 and you have provided us with 'Walk Home Alone Consent' that your child is able to walk home alone at 3:15pm. The 'Walk Home Alone Consent' form is available from the School office.
