School Day - October 2020

Breakfast School Care - from September 2020

John Burns Primary School offers Breakfast School Care for working parents.

It is open from 7:30am until your child's year group starts the school day. This service is open to children in all year groups - Nursery to Year 6.

School Day from September 2020

The school day will be staggered from September for different year groups (Full time Nursery to Year 6). It is crucial that you keep to these timings, and do not arrive too early or late.

The children will line up on designated markers (with 1m social distancing) on the playground.

Class teachers will come out to the playground to collect their class at the beginning of the school day. Class teachers will bring their class out to the playground at the end of the day.

Parents cannot enter the school building (this includes the school office, classrooms and dinner hall). Any queries or questions will need to be raised by email or telephone.

Only one adult per family will be allowed on site.

In order to effectively reduce risks associated with large groups of people mixing, it is vital that parents maintain social distancing during drop off and collection times and adhere to the times set out above. Additionally, they must keep any younger children next to them while they are waiting to collect.

In order to maintain social distancing during pupil social times, the playgrounds will be zoned. It is really important that your child stays within the area that they are told to.

After School Care

After School Clubs led by teachers/teaching assistants and sports coaches will not run during the first half of the autumn term. We hope to be able to offer After School Clubs after the autumn half term.

The school will continue to offer After School Care provision which runs until 5:45pm.

Collection

Please be advised that we will not allow any child to be collected by an unfamiliar adult or sibling under 16 years of age.

At the start of each school year in September parents and carers are required to let us know the names of any adults with permission to pick up their child.

Children must be picked up from school by one of these adults, unless they are in Year 5/Year 6 and you have provided us with 'Walk Home Alone Consent' that your child is able to walk home alone at the end of the school day.

The 'Walk Home Alone Consent' form is available from the School office.
